Chrome won't update to the latest version of AdBlock

Chrome extensions update automatically whenever a developer releases a new version in the Chrome Web Store. Chrome checks for updates every few hours, so you may not see an update right away.

If AdBlock isn't updating automatically when we release new versions, you most likely didn't install AdBlock from the Chrome Web Store. If you installed AdBlock manually (a process called "sideloading"), you'll need to update AdBlock manually, too.

To update AdBlock and all other enabled extensions in Chrome:

  1. Type chrome://extensions in the address bar.
  2. Turn on Developer mode by clicking the toggle button in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Click UPDATE.

If this doesn't work, please uninstall and reinstall AdBlock. (Copy any custom filters to a text file for safekeeping first! You'll need to add them again after AdBlock is reinstalled.)
