You can help us improve AdBlock's functionality and performance by allowing us to collect information when you visit sites that use anti-adblock walls, particularly YouTube. This is a temporary initiative and all collected data will be deleted after 3 months.
If you visit YouTube, this is what we collect:
- If you're logged into YouTube
- If and when you see YouTube's anti-adblock notification
- The device ID (a randomly generated 16-character string)
- The browser you are using
- The operating system you are using
- The locale (identified by a country code)
- The language your browser is displayed in
- The extension version
The setting that allows us to collect this information is enabled by default. You can opt out of sharing data with us at any time.
To opt out of data sharing:
- Click the AdBlock toolbar icon.
- Click the gear symbol.
- On the General tab, clear the option next to Help improve AdBlock by allowing some user specific data collection on sites that use anti-adblock walls.
To opt in to data sharing after opting out:
- Click the AdBlock toolbar icon.
- Click the gear symbol.
- On the General tab, select the option next to Help improve AdBlock by allowing some user specific data collection on sites that use anti-adblock walls.
Participating in our data collection allows us to gather this information as you're using AdBlock, not just when you explicitly provide it to us.
Please see this Help Center article for more information about the data we can see and how we use it.
